About me

This blog is entitled “In The Work.” You can only learn by doing, and you can only operate if you’re in the details. My aspiration for this space (and my career) is that the lessons I share are directly a result of being in the details.

Now

I’m currently a VP of Engineering at Imprint, which is the best way for companies to launch a modern co-branded credit card experience. It’s an exciting space with a lot of hard problems, and we are hiring 😊.

Before

Before Imprint I spent 8 years at Squarespace, where I was a Director of Engineering in the Engineering Platform organization. When I left I had roughly 85 reports and 12 teams reporting, split across NYC HQ, US Remote, and Dublin offices. I was fortunate to work across many domains (including Enterprise, Customer Operations Engineering, IAM, etc), but the accomplishment I’m most proud of was my role as one of the founding engineers of the International Engineering effort. I helped grow International Engineering as a Staff Engineer and a team of two in 2018 to multiple PED triads, a cross-functional team of over 100, and 300M in revenue by 2024.

Before Squarespace I worked at Etsy for 4 years, where I was as an Engineering Manager on the Product Infrastructure team. Other roles I held during my tenure at Etsy included the Engineering Manager/founding engineer of the Accessibility Engineering team, and Senior Software Engineer on the Front-end Infrastructure, Mobile Web and Web Performance teams.

Before Etsy I worked at an agency building coca-colacompany.com, and before that I worked at a government contractor building full-stack web applications.

Else

When I have lessons to share I enjoy speaking at conferences.

In my free time I like to spend time with my family, explore diverse cuisines, cook, and play golf.

I’m a leukemia survivor and the creator of cheekswab.org. I use my story to engage with ethnic minority groups and coordinate bone marrow drives in New York City and nearby areas. Please visit Cheekswab or visit the National Marrow Donor Program website directly to learn more about bone marrow donation and joining the BeTheMatch Bone Marrow Registry. It truly is the lottery to save a life.

I’m probably listening to 90s hip hop.
